Hearing Aid Batteries
Rechargeable Batteries
Every major hearing aid manufacturer now offers rechargeable hearing aids. Unlike models that use disposable batteries, rechargeable hearing aids keep the battery sealed inside the unit, and the entire hearing aid is placed in a charging station to receive power.
Disposable Batteries
Hearing aids that use disposable batteries may not be around for too much longer, as rechargeable technology continues to improve. However, they are still the best option for some people, especially if a smaller hearing aid is desired.
There are four sizes of disposable batteries that are used, depending on the size of the hearing aid they need to power. The largest can last 9–20 days, while the smallest can last 3–7 days. The amount of time they last is dependent upon how fresh they are, as well as how much power is consumed by the particular hearing aids they are used in.
